Coming out of the closet…

No.  There is no “coming out of the closet” announcement here.  It’s just that I’ve been thinking about worship a lot here recently.  It is more than just music or other creative arts.  There are so many things that worship is, and then again what worship should NOT be.  The Bible references a closet when you pray.  Just an FYI…Your closet doesn’t have to be an actual closet.  It is just a place where you can get away and be with God.

Jesus seemed to find places up on mountains to pray and spend time with God.  Or anywhere away from the rest of the crowd.  As followers of Christ’s example, we are to do the same.  Spend time with God, that is.

So what is your routine?

Early in the morning?  Late at night?
Coffee shops?  Couch at home?
Bible and journal?  Devotional and note pad?
Silence?  iPod with a Jesus-Mix?

So where do YOU go?  What does your “Quiet Time” look like?  What do you do during your time alone with God?  How long do you usually set aside?

Feel free to comment.  I’d love to know more about what this looks like for you…

  1. Mine is usually either my car ride to work or home from work. With two toddlers constantly begging for attention at home, and endless users needing tasks fulfilled at work, I usually find these are the best times to just sit back and reflect.
